Accounts Receivable Specialist

Henderson Brewing Company is located in the west end of Toronto. We combine great beer with great stories about Toronto and our community, and believe in making innovative and approachable beers that reflect the stories and culture of our great city.

Reporting to our CFO and working alongside our Business Manager. We embrace flexible work arrangements and working remotely from home is possible for the majority of this position, however, we do require frequent documentation pickup from our Sterling location.


A self-starter and team player. Someone who wants to be part of something special and is not afraid to get their hands dirty. You are detailed oriented with excellent communication skills and exceptional computer skills, specifically with spreadsheets, downloading data and formatting the data for input into Quickbooks Online, and various Brewery Management Systems and Point of Sale Software applications (all web based). Experience with eKOS, QuickBooks Online, Silverware, Shopify, Uber Eats, Skip the Dishes and other eCommerce platforms is a distinct advantage.

You are a problem-solver and multi-tasker who recognizes that working with a small business requires adapting to changes from one day to the next. You thrive in a fast-paced and high-volume environment.

Weekly Tasks Include, but are not limited to:
> Order Desk

> Manage our Wholesale orders inbox by recording all orders in our Brewery Management System (eKos) and responding to customers in a timely fashion.

> Process Wholesale Accounts Receivable deposit transactions daily (Restaurants, Bars, and associated Corporate Accounts) and weekly (LCBO/Grocery and The Beer Store), this includes:

> Recording keg deposits on a daily basis in our Brewery Management System (eKOS)

> Processing credit cards and cheque deposits daily

> Recording deposits in Quickbooks Online daily (for Restaurants, Bars, and associated Corporate Accounts) or
weekly (for LCBO/Grocery and The Beer Store) and matching to associated invoice

> Communicating with customers to resolve disputes (under or over payment) and or address questions relating to their invoices or monthly statements

> Monthly reconciliation of all Wholesale Accounts Receivable balances

> Continually reviewing Wholesale Accounts Receivable to ensure days outstanding are kept to a minimum, and calling Wholesale customers for prompt payment

> Process Retail (primarily Tap Room and eCommerce) Accounts Receivable sales and deposit transactions daily (Tap Room, Shopify etc) and weekly (Uber Eats, Skip the Dishes etc), this includes:
> Extracting Retail Sales data from the various Retail Systems and formatting to enable sales recording by sales channel (Tap Room, Shopify, Uber Eats, Skip the Dishes etc) on a daily, weekly or monthly basis
> Recording Retail Sales Inventory data by sales channel on a daily, weekly or monthly basis in our Brewery Management System (eKOS)
> Recording Retail Sales Dollars data by sales channel on a daily, weekly or monthly basis in Quickbooks Online
> Reviewing the Bank Statement to identify deposits by sales channel and on a daily, weekly or monthly basis recording the deposit in Quickbooks Online matching to associated invoice
> Communicating with Retail sales channels to resolve disputes (under or over payment)
> Process Bank Account deposit and other cash transactions daily, this includes:
> Monitor all banking activities in order to detect deposits
> Promptly (within 24 hours) record all deposits transactions in Quickbooks Online
> Assist with month-end and year-end close process
> Require sales calls to LCBO and Beer Stores on Mondays to help facilitate new business
> Special projects, as required

> Experience: 1-2 years of experience in a finance/analytical role

> Qualifications: Post-secondary degree (business, accounting, or something related)

> Computer Skills: Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Google Sheets / Microsoft Excel / Mac OS Numbers, or any modern spreadsheeting application; advanced skills is a definite advantage

> Teamwork: Strong communication and interpersonal skills

> Problem Solving: Able to identify issues and opportunities and implement effective solutions

> Highly detailed person who can adapt to changing priorities
> Relevant experience in the alcohol beverage industry is a significant asset.

Expected start date: 2021-07-19
Salary: $35,000.00-$40,000.00 per year
