You will be reporting to our GM and working along with the VP of Sales & along with our dynamic Board of Directors to really help Henderson continue to grow – in the right way.
Who You Are: A self-starter. A team player. Someone who wants to be part of something special and is not afraid to get their hands dirty. You’ll be working at the brewery, above the taproom. You may make the odd-delivery on your way home and even work an hour in the taproom.

The Job: Financial Controller.
The Duties / Tasks:
I. Accounting Tasks:
> Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to
maintain and strengthen internal controls
> Prepare and publish timely monthly financial statements
> Manage & oversee all finance and accounting operations including Billing, A/R, A/P, GL, Cost Accounting, Inventory Accounting and Revenue
> Support month-end and year-end close process
> Ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting
> Work directly with senior management to ensure company goals and
objectives are met
> Prepare, coordinate and lead internal audits.
> Additional controller duties as necessary
II. Internal Reporting:
> Create and manage all sales reports required by management
> Create other key reports for management on a weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual basis
> Create reports to assist in investment decisions and internal capital project planning
III. Board / Governance Tasks:
> Prepare Board Packages
> Liaise with Board Chair and Shareholders
> Maintain shareholders register
> Act as scrutineer at AGM
> Prepare AGM package
> Prepare shareholder e-mails for management and Board review
IV. Government Tasks:
> Prepare / oversee all government filings (Payroll, HST, Corporate Tax)
> Review and assist with Provincial, Federal and Excise tax reporting
requirements and filings
> Coordinate the preparation of regulatory reporting, complying with local, Provincial and Federal Government reporting requirements and tax filings
> Work closely with government auditors when the business gets chosen for regular audits
V. Finance Tasks:
> Coordinate and direct the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts and report variances
> Maintain and update the forecast model for the company
> Liaise with the company’s bankers
> Prepare documentation for the banks, as needed, for existing debt or
when applying for new debt
The Experience Required:
> Financial management role with at least 3 years experience as a
> Strong computer skills, including Quickbooks and Microsoft Excel
> Strong interpersonal and communication skills
> Impeccable analytical and organizational skills
> Self-motivated and self-directed
> Ability to work closely with a senior management team
> Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Accounting or Finance.
> Accounting designation (CMA, CGA or CA)
