The Toronto Wolfpack – the worlds first major trans-Atlantic professional sports team – is proud to announce a partnership with Ontario small brewers which will make all Wolfpack games in Toronto unique beer festivals. This is the first ever major sporting league to partner with local craft brewers exclusively.
“Being an international league, we wanted to be super local and showcase the best of what we have to offer in Ontario. It made a lot of sense to work with the great local brewers and ciders we have here,” says Joe Santos, Corporate Communications Advisor for the Wolfpack.
Each home game will feature a rotating group of small brewers, including Henderson Brewing, at each match. Other brewers like Side Launch, Bobcaygeon, White Water, High Park and Flying Monkeys will rotate throughout the season. More craft breweries will be announced in the coming months. Each game will feature six breweries set up in the north end zone of Lamport Stadium, “The Den.” This will be the first sporting event that has been combined with a beer festival. In addition to the craft beers, Shiny Apple Cider will be offered as the local cider.
The historic opening day match on Saturday May 6th at 4:30pm will feature Redline, Lost Craft, Henderson, Side Launch, Bobcaygeon and High Park. Visit the Wolfpack’s Beer Garden events page at www.TorontoWolfpack.com/BeerGarden to see who will be pouring at upcoming games.
All matches will be played at Lamport Stadium in the heart of Liberty Village. Doors will open at 3:00pm on May 6th. Games are two 40-minute halves with a 15 minute intermission
Once the game is done, don’t leave! Stick around The Garden for some live music and more fun. Join in the tradition of rugby and enjoy a pint with the players who battled it out on the playing field only to share a laugh and drink.
