In April 2020, Henderson added a fifth all electric plug-in vehicle to its fleet: A 2019 Smart electric, to go with a 2016 Smart electric, a 2015 Mitsubishi iMev and a 2017 VW e-Golf. Our newest vehicle is a 2011 Ford Transit Electric – one of only a few hundred made. This makes the Henderson fleet 50% plug-in. Steve Himel, Henderson GM has committed to only buying plug-in electric vehicles moving forward, with a goal of having a 100% electric fleet by 2024. “The technology is there, and we are the perfect company to go all electric . We are city focused which means shorter distances, allowing us to take advantage of the current battery technology without experiencing range anxiety. Further, thanks to a grant from the previous Liberal Government of Ontario, we have two fast-charging stations at the brewery which allow us to always have our vehicles ready for the road”. Henderson’s charging stations are also free and open to the public.
